24 Hour Hotline:

  209-572-2970

The Central Valley Intergroup AA HOTLINE takes calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. CVI provides a listing in the telephone directory and receives inquiries for help. The Hotline is the first contact that many people have with AA. It is the link from one suffering alcoholic to a sober member of AA. Some calls are from people requesting meeting times and locations. Some calls are from suffering alcoholics who need our help. Volunteers on the HOTLINE share their experience, strength, and hope with the callers. Volunteers also call members on the 12 Step List and ask them to either call or visit the suffering alcoholic. We strongly urge 12 Step volunteers to take along another sober member of AA when visiting someone. Hotline volunteers are given training, a set of guidelines to assist them in handling calls, and a complete Hotline Packet. Suggested requirements include 6 months or more of continuous sobriety, a sponsor, and a working knowledge of the 12 Steps. What is the 12 STEP List? When the Hotline receives calls from alcoholics who need help, Hotline Volunteers call people on the 12 Step List. These 12 Step List Members will be asked to provide help in the form of a phone call or a visit to a home. It is always recommended when visiting a home that we get another sober member of AA to go with us. Suggested requirements include 6 months or more of continuous sobriety, a sponsor, and a working knowledge of the 12 Steps.

When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. to always be there. And for that,I am responsible.
